Since its start, the company’s privacy policy has been a simple one: “We don’t collect or share personal information.” Other search engines, chief among them Google, save your search history. Along with this information, it also keeps the date and time of the search, some information about your computer such as its IP address, and if you are logged in, your account information (including your name and email address)....

Goodbye, Winamp! The player who is a serious part of my generation’s teenage years and I’ve listened to the bulk of my music in the last several years is going away. Founded in 1997 and bought by AOL in 1999, the player is facing a fate similar to other classic programs that have been around for what seems like forever. It will be completely shut down on December 20. The bad news is confirmed on Winamp’s official website, with Tom Pepper, one of Winamp’s two founders, taking to Reddit to thank fans for their support over the years....

Since then, the company has released a new version of Edge based on Chromium code. It comes preinstalled on Windows 10 and is also cross-platform. Add Permanent Drive Letters to Removeable Storage Windows progresses through the alphabet (sans A and B) to assign drive letters to devices as you plug them in. Here I’m using the latest Xbox dashboard update. Select Social then your Xbox Live avatar. On the next screen select Change Theme. Highlight the Theme you want to use. The theme is displayed as you highlight each one. Here I’m selecting The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Theme that I purchased from the Xbox Marketplace. That’s it. It’s cool to change your Xbox dashboard theme once in a while to for a fresh view....

Beautiful design Clean, elegant and easy to use. In my humble opinion, possibly the best of all the weather apps available to date. The menu navigation makes sense. It also allows you to sign in with your Yahoo! account and sync things up. The Settings menu, allows you to set all the necessary items without over complicating anything. You can also set the app to have a constant presence in the notification area – that way, you’ll know the weather for your location, all the time....

Farewell, THQ In perhaps the biggest news of the week, game publisher THQ is no more. It’s been shut down and several of the company assets were sold off. More of its properties are still to be auctioned off. It’s a bit sad to see companies like THQ go, because it was such a big part of the industry at one time. At least several of their development studios and games will live on through other publishers....
