Windows Phone 8.1 preview is available for anyone to download. And this week, on the heels of an update last month that improves battery life, another update is available.
Windows Phone 8.1 version 8.10.12393.890
You can get this update, and any new updates simply by going to Settings > Phone Update > Check for Updates. The size of this update is about 21 MB. To verify everything went correctly, had to Settings > About > More Info to see the precise OS version which will be 8.10.12393.890.
There isn’t much information on this update other than it improves Quiet Hours by being global, and doesn’t require Cortana. Also, there is a difference in the boot screen that replaces the stand-alone Windows logo and includes “Windows Phone” text — which is natively shown on a Nokia Lumia 630. On my Nokia Lumia 520, Action Center seems to be snappier and more responsive, of course that is subjective and the 520 is the lowest model phone. Users of higher end Nokia’s might notice other stability or performance enhancements. If you are the proud owner of a high end Nokia Lumia, definitely leave us a comment and see what improvements you are seeing. Not a whole lot to see here, but if you’re a Windows Phone enthusiast, you’ll definitely want to pick it up. For more on Windows Phone 8.1 features and how to use them, check out the articles below.

Before the animation only faded smoothly when you slid up the screen at a normal pace. However, if you slid up pretty quickly, it didn’t fade but rather ..flicked off like a switch. It fades smoothly when you swipe up fast now :) Comment Name * Email *
